JCB has been producing farm machinery since 1945 when it’s founder, Joseph Cyril Bamford, built his very first farm trailer. Joseph had a keen eye for designing innovative products and the fledgling company soon went from strength to strength under his stewardship. The company has always had a keen understanding that the very best levels of performance and productivity are expected when producing farm machinery.
Through the decades JCB has retained its commitment to innovation with key developments including the first agricultural loadalls which were introduced in the late 1970s; agricultural wheeled loaders developed in the 1980s; and the revolutionary Fastrac tractors in the 1990s. As a company they show a huge commitment to developing new technologies to improve efficiency in their machines. TorqueLock technology is used to reduce fuel consumption and increase top speeds; Adaptive Load Control was developed to improve stability and safety in the telescopic machines; and a new addition is their telematics system, LiveLink.
First launched in 2016, the Fastrac is a genuine high-speed tractor which does not compromise on performance. When it was launched, this range did nothing short of revolutionise the agricultural industry, enabling far higher productivity than ever before.
The Fastrac has been designed to be the most versatile, comfortable and productive tractor on the market, as well as the safest. Fastrac’s travel well both in the field and on the road where they can travel at up to 70 kph.
This unique tractor benefits from both front and rear suspension for supreme traction as well as driver comfort. External brake discs allow for both heat dissipation and greater performance than oil-immersed braking systems can deliver. JCB tractors are built with a full chassis creating stability, strength and optimum load carrying ability.
The 4000 series is the entry level range, starting from 160hp rated power and the range culminates in the 8000 series. The tractors in this range can perform a multitude of tasks ranging from hauling at 43mph to heavy draft work at 4mp. The 8330 is the flagship tractor in the range and boasts a rated power of 335hp allowing for unrivalled productivity.
JCB offers an extensive range of compact excavators, from 0.8 to 10 tonnes, making them versatile enough to be used for a variety of applications. Each model has an excellent power-to-weight ratio, as well as a clear focus on comfort and controllability.
The new generation of JCB 1-2 tonne mini-diggers boast as standard 100% steel bodywork, protected hoses and solid cast rear door. A choice of cab, canopy and a zero tailswing option is available.
JCB launched their first telehandler in the 1970s – the JCB 520 telescopic handler. At the time this took the industry by storm and ultimately led to the development of the hugely successful Loadall range. Ever since then they have remained at the forefront of innovation in this field and the JCB Loadall is the world’s best-selling telehandler. The range is synonymous with the very highest levels of performance and productivity and, with over 30 machines, it is one of the most extensive telehandler ranges in the world.
The range includes compact models which are perfect for accessing and working in restricted areas, through to heavy duty 4.9 tonne payload or 20m lift height machines. All the telehandlers in the range are designed with manoeuvrability in mind and benefit from three different steer modes. In addition, most JCB Loadalls feature the world-renowned Ecomax engine. With world-class build quality, competitive running costs and robust residual values, it is no surprise that JCB loadalls achieve such dominance in this market.
The range of specialist agricultural telehandlers include the AGRI, AGRI Plus, AGRI Super and the top of the range AGRI Pro. The combination of four-wheel drive, forward reach and the ability to use a wide range of attachments has transformed the farming industry.
JCB produces a range of over 300 machines and with superlative engineering facilities around the globe, they invest heavily in research and development. This ensures that they remain at the cutting edge of innovation, continually updating their ranges to over-deliver on requirements and expectations.
